Spectators at Friday's league battle between the West Wilkes Blackhawks (Millers Creek, NC) and the visiting North Wilkes Vikings (Hays, NC), saw West Wilkes's baseball squad knock off North Wilkes by a count of 10-4.

Coming up next, the Blackhawks play the Surry Central Golden Eagles (Dobson, NC) in a Foothills 2A battle, on Tuesday, April 4. West Wilkes will attempt to move on its 9-4 season record. The Golden Eagles enter the battle with a 8-6 record after their 8-7 non-league win over Elkin (Elkin, NC).

The Vikings now possess a 6-7 record. They take the field next when they host East Surry for a Foothills 2A battle on Tuesday, April 4. North Wilkes will play a Cardinals squad coming off a 12-0 league win over Wilkes Central (Wilkesboro, NC). The Cardinals record now stands at 11-3.
