Laguna Creek Cardinals (Elk Grove, CA) fans exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting McClatchy Lions (Sacramento, CA), 8-7 in a league challenge.

The Cardinals now sport a 2-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Inderkum for a non-league challenge on Wednesday, April 5.

With the loss, McClatchy falls to 0-1 on the campaign. The Lions host Kennedy (Sacramento, CA) to face the Cougars in a challenge on Friday, April 28. The Cougars enter the challenge with a record of 0-3.
