The North Stanly Comets (New London, NC) softball triumphed over the host Albemarle Bulldogs (Albemarle, NC), 16-0 in Friday's league challenge.
The Comets now sport a 9-6 record. They take the field next when they travel to Mount Pleasant for a Yadkin Valley 1A/2A challenge on Tuesday, April 4. North Stanly will face a Tigers squad coming off a 7-5 non-league loss to Cox Mill (Concord, NC). The Tigers record now stands at 8-4.
With the loss, Albemarle falls to 0-5 on the campaign. The Bulldogs host Union Academy (Monroe, NC) to face the Cardinals in a Yadkin Valley 1A/2A challenge on Thursday, April 6. The Cardinals enter the challenge with a record of 11-2.
