New Waverly Bulldogs (New Waverly, TX) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Anderson-Shiro Fighting Owls (Anderson, TX), 6-3 in a league challenge.

The Bulldogs now own a 6-8 record. They take the field next when they host Crockett for a 3A Region III District 23 challenge on Tuesday, April 4.

With the loss, Anderson-Shiro falls to 14-5 on the campaign. The Fighting owls travel to Shepherd (Shepherd, TX) to battle the Pirates in a 3A Region III District 23 challenge on Tuesday, April 4.
