North Carolina High School Softball - Topsail bounces Ashley

The Topsail Pirates routed the host Ashley Screaming Eagle softball squad by a final score of 12-1 in Friday's league battle.

The Pirates (6-3) will now prepare for their battle against Laney (Wilmington, NC). The Buccaneers go into the Mideastern 3A/4A battle with a 7-3 record. In their last battle, Laney topped Hoggard (Wilmington, NC), 7-2, in a league battle.

The Screaming Eagle now possess a 2-10 record. They play next when they host East Bladen for a non-league battle on Monday, April 3. Ashley will meet a Eagles squad coming off a 2-1 league loss to West Bladen (Bladenboro, NC). The Eagles record now stands at 4-7.
