Fairmont Golden Tornadoes (Fairmont, NC) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad run past the host Clinton Dark Horses (Clinton, NC), 16-6 in a league challenge.

The Golden Tornadoes now own a 6-7 record. They take the field next when they host West Bladen for a Southeastern Athletic 2A challenge on Monday, April 3. Fairmont will battle a Knights squad coming off a 2-1 league win over East Bladen (Elizabethtown, NC). The Knights record now stands at 8-5.

With the loss, Clinton falls to 0-12 on the campaign. The Dark horses travel to Red Springs (Red Springs, NC) to battle the Red Devils in a Southeastern Athletic 2A challenge on Tuesday, April 4. The Red Devils enter the challenge with a record of 1-5. Red Springs lost 15-0 in their recent league challenge against Midway (Dunn, NC)
