Spectators at Friday's league match between the Monterey Plainsmen (Lubbock, TX) and the visiting Coronado Mustangs (Lubbock, TX), witnessed Monterey's softball squad prevail over Coronado by a count of 13-1.

The Plainsmen now sport a 22-4 record. They play next when they host Cooper for a 5A Region I District 4 match on Tuesday, April 4. Monterey will face a Pirates squad coming off a 10-1 league loss to Wylie (Abilene, TX). The Pirates record now stands at 8-5.

With the loss, Coronado moves to 7-7 on the season. The Mustangs host Lubbock (Lubbock, TX) to face the Westerners in a 5A Region I District 4 match on Tuesday, April 4. The Westerners go into the match with a record of 4-10. Lubbock lost 10-0 in their recent league match against Monterey (Lubbock, TX)
