The Pine Tree Pirates (Longview, TX) softball routed the visiting Texas Tigers (Texarkana, TX), 8-3 in Friday's league bout.

The Pirates (18-8) will now prepare for their bout against Hallsville (Hallsville, TX). The Bobcats go into the 5A Region II District 15 bout with a 10-8 record. In their last bout, Hallsville held off Marshall (Marshall, TX), 11-9, in a league bout.

The Tigers now possess a 8-9 record. They play next when they travel to Tyler for a 5A Region II District 15 bout on Tuesday, April 4. Texas will confront a Lions squad coming off a 17-0 league loss to Mt. Pleasant (Mt. Pleasant, TX). The Lions record now stands at 1-22.
