Raleigh Lions (Raleigh, MS) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting St. Andrew's Episcopal Saints (Ridgeland, MS), 18-3 in a league challenge.
The Lions now own a 16-6 record. They take the field next when they host South Jones for a non-league challenge on Monday, April 3. Raleigh will battle a Braves squad coming off a 9-3 non-league win over Columbia (Columbia, MS). The Braves record now stands at 9-6.
With the loss, St. Andrew's Episcopal falls to 0-4 on the campaign. The Saints travel to Magee (Magee, MS) to battle the Trojans in a 3A Region 6 challenge on Tuesday, April 18. The Trojans enter the challenge with a record of 4-11.
