Bearden Bears (Bearden, AR) backers left the game pleased Monday as they saw their softball squad thwart the host Emerson Pirates (Emerson, AR), 16-6 in a league battle.

The Bears now possess a 1-1 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Gurdon for a non-league battle on Tuesday, April 1. Bearden will confront a Go-Devils team coming off a 10-0 league loss to Magnet Cove (Malvern, AR). The Go-Devils record now stands at 4-4.

With the loss, Emerson moves to 1-3 on the season. The Pirates travel to Strong (Strong, AR) to confront the Bulldogs in a 1A Region 8 battle on Tuesday, April 1. The Bulldogs come into the battle with a record of 0-3. Strong lost 20-14 in their recent league battle against Lafayette County (Stamps, AR)
