The Manzano Monarchs triumphed over the host Del Norte Knights softball squad by a count of 14-1 in Monday's non-league challenge.

Next, the Monarchs meet the La Cueva Bears (Albuquerque, NM) in a 5A District 2 challenge, on Monday, April 7. Manzano will attempt to upgrade on its 4-10 season record. The Bears enter the challenge with a 12-3 record after their 6-2 non-league win over Alamogordo (Alamogordo, NM).

The Knights (3-13) will now prepare for their challenge against Bernalillo (Bernalillo, NM). The Spartans enter the 4A District 6 challenge with a 7-9 record. In their last challenge, Bernalillo was routed by Hope Christian (Albuquerque, NM), 9-4, in a league challenge.
