Belgreen Bulldogs (Russellville, AL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Phillips Bears (Bear Creek, AL), 9-5 in a league challenge.

The Bulldogs now own a 4-3 record. They take the field next when they host Red Bay for a non-league challenge on Friday, March 4. Belgreen will battle a Tigers squad coming off a 6-0 non-league win over Phil Campbell (Phil Campbell, AL). The Tigers record now stands at 1-1.

With the loss, Phillips falls to 0-6 on the campaign. The Bears travel to Hackleburg (Hackleburg, AL) to battle the Panthers in a 1A Area 14 challenge on Saturday, March 5. The Panthers enter the challenge with a record of 3-2.
