Rio Mesa Spartans (Oxnard, CA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Buena Bulldogs (Ventura, CA), 6-0 in a league challenge.

The Spartans now own a 4-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Calabasas for a non-league challenge on Saturday, March 5. Rio Mesa will battle a Coyotes squad coming off a 9-1 league loss to Newbury Park (Newbury Park, CA). The Coyotes record now stands at 3-7.

With the loss, Buena falls to 2-7 on the campaign. The Bulldogs host Newbury Park (Newbury Park, CA) to battle the Panthers in a non-league challenge on Saturday, March 5.
