Clairemont Chieftains (San Diego, CA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Southwest EC Eagles (El Centro, CA), 4-2 in a non-league challenge.

The Chieftains now own a 2-2 record. They take the field next when they host Calexico for a non-league challenge on Thursday, March 9. Clairemont will face a Bulldogs squad coming off a 7-4 non-league win over Sage Creek (Carlsbad, CA). The Bulldogs record now stands at 2-1.

With the loss, Southwest EC falls to 4-4 on the campaign. The Eagles travel to University City (San Diego, CA) to face the Centurions in a non-league challenge on Thursday, March 9. The Centurions enter the challenge with a record of 0-4. University City lost 13-4 in their recent non-league challenge against San Dieguito Academy (Encinitas, CA)
