Humphreys County Cowboys (Belzoni, MS) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting Greenville Hornets (Greenville, MS), 24-8 in a non-league challenge.

The Cowboys now own a 1-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Greenville for a non-league challenge on Thursday, March 9.

With the loss, Greenville falls to 1-1 on the campaign. The Hornets travel to Cleveland Central (Cleveland, MS) to battle the Wolves in a 5A Region 2 challenge on Monday, March 6. The Wolves enter the challenge with a record of 3-2. Cleveland Central won 12-11 in their recent non-league challenge against Grenada (Grenada, MS)
