Columbia Roughnecks (West Columbia, TX) fans were thrilled Monday as they observed their soccer team hold off the host Brazosport Exporters (Freeport, TX), 1-0 in a league challenge.

Next, the Roughnecks face the Stafford Spartans (Stafford, TX) in a 4A Region 3 District 21 challenge, on Saturday, March 9. Columbia will attempt to better on its 13-6 season record. The Spartans enter the challenge with a 3-9 record after their 4-3 league loss to Iowa Colony (Iowa Colony, TX).

The Exporters now have a 7-8 record. They take the field next when they travel to Sweeny for a 4A Region 3 District 21 challenge on Saturday, March 9. Brazosport will face a Bulldogs team coming off a 8-1 league win over La Marque (La Marque, TX). The Bulldogs record now stands at 8-11.
