The Emerson Pirates softball team scored 26 runs and limited the visiting Garrett Memorial Christian Saints to 25 in the Pirates non-league triumph on Monday.

With the triumph, Emerson improves its record to 1-0 on the year. The Pirates host Genoa Central (Texarkana, AR) to clash with the Dragons in a non-league game on Tuesday, March 5. The Dragons come into the game with a record of 1-5. Genoa Central lost 6-4 in their recent non-league game against Murfreesboro (Murfreesboro, AR)

In their next game, the Saints clash with the Nevada Blue Jays (Rosston, AR) in a non-league game, on Tuesday, March 12. Garrett Memorial Christian will attempt to improve on its 0-2 season record. The Blue Jays come into the game with a 0-1 record after their 6-4 non-league loss to Bearden (Bearden, AR).
