Pisgah Eagles (Pisgah, AL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Fort Payne Wildcats (Fort Payne, AL), 14-9 in a non-league challenge.

The Eagles now own a 1-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Sylvania for a non-league challenge on Tuesday, March 5. Pisgah will battle a Rams squad coming off a 8-4 non-league loss to Fyffe (Fyffe, AL). The Rams record now stands at 0-2.

With the loss, Fort Payne falls to 3-3 on the campaign. The Wildcats host Buckhorn (New Market, AL) to battle the Bucks in a 6A Area 14 challenge on Tuesday, March 5. The Bucks enter the challenge with a record of 5-5. Buckhorn lost 7-2 in their recent non-league challenge against Austin (Decatur, AL)
