Franklin Lions (Franklin, TX) fans exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad achieve victory over the visiting Westwood Panthers (Palestine, TX), 15-0 in a league challenge.

The Lions now sport a 17-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Mexia for a 3A Region III District 20 challenge on Friday, March 8. Franklin will face a Black Cats squad coming off a 10-2 non-league loss to Dawson (Dawson, TX). The Black Cats record now stands at 0-5.

With the loss, Westwood falls to 5-7 on the campaign. The Panthers host Elkhart (Elkhart, TX) to face the Elks in a 3A Region III District 20 challenge on Friday, March 8. The Elks enter the challenge with a record of 8-9. Elkhart lost 9-2 in their recent league challenge against Buffalo (Buffalo, TX)
