The Escondido Cougars baseball team scored 7 runs and held the visiting Oceanside Pirates to 1 in the Cougars non-league win on Tuesday.

The Cougars now own a 1-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Mt. Carmel for a non-league test on Thursday, March 6. Escondido will play a Sundevils team coming off a 8-5 non-league win over Point Loma (San Diego, CA). The Sundevils record now stands at 1-0.

With the defeat, Oceanside drops to 0-3 on the year. The Pirates travel to San Dieguito Academy (Encinitas, CA) to play the Mustangs in a non-league test on Thursday, March 6. The Mustangs go into the test with a record of 0-2. San Dieguito Academy lost 16-0 in their recent non-league test against La Costa Canyon (Carlsbad, CA)
