The Franklin Cougars softball team scored 17 runs and limited the host Bel Air Highlanders to 16 in the Cougars non-league triumph on Saturday.

With the triumph, Franklin improves its record to 6-14 on the year. The Cougars host Montwood (El Paso, TX) to clash with the Rams in a 6A Region I District 1 game on Tuesday, March 8. The Rams come into the game with a record of 5-8. Montwood won 6-5 in their recent non-league game against Parkland (El Paso, TX)

In their next game, the Highlanders clash with the Hanks Knights (El Paso, TX) in a 5A Region I District 2 game, on Tuesday, March 8. Bel Air will attempt to improve on its 2-10 season record. The Knights come into the game with a 16-2 record after their 4-0 non-league loss to Americas (El Paso, TX).
