The crowd at Saturday's non-league match between the Caldwell Hornets (Caldwell, TX) and the visiting Blooming Grove Lions (Blooming Grove, TX), saw Caldwell's softball squad nip Blooming Grove by a count of 1-0.

The Hornets now sport a 6-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to New Waverly for a non-league match on Saturday, March 5. Caldwell will face a Bulldogs squad coming off a 2-1 non-league loss to Westwood (Palestine, TX). The Bulldogs record now stands at 5-3.

With the loss, Blooming Grove falls to 10-3 on the campaign. The Lions travel to Rice (Rice, TX) to face the Bulldogs in a 3A Region III District 18 match on Tuesday, March 8. The Bulldogs enter the match with a record of 5-4.
