Archbishop Mitty Monarchs (San Jose, CA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Salinas Cowboys (Salinas, CA), 4-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Monarchs now own a 3-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Salinas for a non-league challenge on Friday, March 8. Archbishop Mitty will battle a Cowboys squad coming off a 16-5 non-league win over Carlmont (Belmont, CA). The Cowboys record now stands at 3-1.

With the loss, Salinas falls to 2-1 on the campaign. The Cowboys travel to Carlmont (Belmont, CA) to battle the Scots in a non-league challenge on Thursday, March 7. The Scots enter the challenge with a record of 1-0. Carlmont won 12-2 in their recent non-league challenge against Live Oak (Morgan Hill, CA)
