The Lovelady Lions got by the visiting Groveton Indians softball squad by a count of 4-3 in Tuesday's league battle.

The Lions (2-3) will now prepare for their battle against Apple Springs (Apple Springs, TX). The Eagles go into the 2A Region III District 21 battle with a 0-10 record. In their last battle, Apple Springs was edged by Corrigan-Camden (Corrigan, TX), 16-1, in a league battle.

The Indians now sport a 13-4 record. They play next when they host Wells for a 2A Region III District 21 battle on Friday, March 8. Groveton will meet a Pirates squad coming off a 9-3 non-league loss to Martinsville (Martinsville, TX). The Pirates record now stands at 0-1.
