Memorial Warriors (Frisco, TX) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Independence Knights (Frisco, TX), 9-5 in a league challenge.

The Warriors now own a 10-8 record. They take the field next when they travel to Liberty for a 5A Region II District 10 challenge on Friday, March 8. Memorial will battle a Redhawks squad coming off a 8-7 league loss to Heritage (Frisco, TX). The Redhawks record now stands at 4-7.

With the loss, Independence falls to 1-8 on the campaign. The Knights host Centennial (Frisco, TX) to battle the Titans in a 5A Region II District 10 challenge on Friday, March 8. The Titans enter the challenge with a record of 4-12. Centennial lost 20-0 in their recent league challenge against Walnut Grove (Prosper, TX)
