With the triumph, Whitmire moves its record to 2-1 on the year. The Wolverines host Chester (Chester, SC) to clash with the Cyclones in a non-league game on Thursday, March 7. The Cyclones come into the game with a record of 0-1. Chester lost 10-0 in their recent non-league game against York (York, SC)

In their next game, the Bulldogs clash with the Ninety Six Wildcats (Ninety Six, SC) in a AA Region 2 game, on Tuesday, March 12. Newberry will attempt to move on its 0-2 season record.
