Southwestern Randolph Cougars (Asheboro, NC) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad run past the host Trinity Bulldogs (Trinity, NC), 20-0 in a league challenge.

The Cougars now own a 1-0 record. They take the field next when they host Providence Grove for a Piedmont Athletic 1A/2A match on Friday, March 8. Southwestern Randolph will meet a Patriots squad coming off a 12-1 league win over Wheatmore (Trinity, NC). The Patriots record now stands at 2-0.

With the loss, Trinity moves to 1-1 on the season. The Bulldogs host South Davidson (Denton, NC) to meet the Wildcats in a non-league match on Thursday, March 7. The Wildcats go into the match with a record of 1-0. South Davidson won 27-2 in their recent non-league match against R.J. Reynolds (Winston-Salem, NC)
