DeSoto Central Jaguars (Southaven, MS) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting Grenada Chargers (Grenada, MS), 17-0 in a non-league challenge.

The Jaguars now own a 5-1 record. They take the field next when they host South Panola for a non-league challenge on Thursday, March 9. DeSoto Central will battle a Tigers squad coming off a 23-2 non-league win over Lake Cormorant (Lake Cormorant, MS). The Tigers record now stands at 5-1.

With the loss, Grenada falls to 2-4 on the campaign. The Chargers travel to Starkville (Starkville, MS) to battle the Yellowjackets in a 6A Region 2 challenge on Tuesday, March 7. The Yellowjackets enter the challenge with a record of 3-3. Starkville lost 11-3 in their recent non-league challenge against Eupora (Eupora, MS)
