Southridge Spartans (Miami, FL) fans exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad achieve victory over the visiting Mater Academy Charter Lions (Hialeah Gardens, FL), 15-5 in a non-league challenge.

The Spartans now sport a 1-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Varela for a non-league challenge on Tuesday, March 7. Southridge will face a Vipers squad coming off a 22-12 non-league loss to South Dade (Homestead, FL). The Vipers record now stands at 0-2.

With the loss, Mater Academy Charter falls to 1-1 on the campaign. The Lions travel to Miami Springs (Miami Springs, FL) to face the Golden Hawks in a non-league challenge on Thursday, March 9. The Golden Hawks enter the challenge with a record of 5-0. Miami Springs won 13-9 in their recent non-league challenge against Hialeah Gardens (Hialeah Gardens, FL)
