Westminster Academy Crusaders (Opelousas, LA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Ascension Episcopal (Lafayette, LA), 11-9 in a non-league challenge.

The Crusaders now own a 4-2 record. They take the field next when they host Catholic of Pointe Coupee for a 1A District 6 challenge on Thursday, March 7. Westminster Academy will battle a Hornets squad coming off a 16-2 non-league win over Zachary (Zachary, LA). The Hornets record now stands at 10-4.

With the loss, Ascension Episcopal falls to 2-8 on the campaign. The travel to Erath (Erath, LA) to battle the Bobcats in a non-league challenge on Monday, March 11. The Bobcats enter the challenge with a record of 4-9. Erath lost 9-8 in their recent non-league challenge against Lafayette Christian Academy (Lafayette, LA)
