The Comeaux Spartans (Lafayette, LA) baseball trounced the host Opelousas Tigers (Opelousas, LA), 17-4 in Thursday's non-league challenge.

The Spartans now own a 3-8 record. They take the field next when they travel to New Iberia for a 5A District 3 challenge on Saturday, March 8. Comeaux will clash with a Yellowjackets team coming off a 7-4 non-league win over Delcambre (Delcambre, LA). The Yellowjackets record now stands at 12-3.

With the defeat, Opelousas drops to 1-4 on the year. The Tigers host Peabody (Alexandria, LA) to clash with the Warhorses in a non-league challenge on Saturday, March 8. The Warhorses go into the challenge with a record of 2-7. Peabody lost 15-0 in their recent non-league challenge against Hicks (Leesville, LA)
