In Thursday's non-league contest, the host Valdez Buccaneers basketball team scored a big 79-53 triumph over the Galena Hawks.
The Buccaneers (12-9) will now prepare for their contest against Delta (Delta Junction, AK). The Huskies go into the 3A Aurora contest with a 11-11 record. In their last contest, Delta smashed Hutchison (Fairbanks, AK), 57-47, in a league contest.
In their next game, the Hawks battle the Hutchison Hawks (Fairbanks, AK) in a non-league contest, on Friday, March 7. Galena will attempt to better on its 3-15 season record. The Hawks go into the contest with a 8-11 record after their 67-51 league loss to Delta (Delta Junction, AK).
