In Thursday's non-league match, the visiting Swansboro Pirates softball team scored a tight 10-7 win over the Ashley Screaming Eagle.

The Pirates (3-2) will now prepare for their match against Jacksonville (Jacksonville, NC). The Cardinals come into the non-league match with a 0-4 record. In their last match, Jacksonville was routed by Croatan (Newport, NC), 8-1, in a non-league match.

In their next game, the Screaming Eagle confront the Topsail Pirates (Hampstead, NC) in a Mideastern 3A/4A match, on Tuesday, March 11. Ashley will attempt to better on its 0-4 season record. The Pirates come into the match with a 2-0 record after their 4-2 non-league win over West Johnston (Benson, NC).
