The Brownfield Cubs softball team scored 17 runs and held the host Compass Academy to 0 in the Cubs league win on Thursday.

The Cubs now sport a 4-8 record. They put it on the line next when they host Crane for a 3A Region I District 3 battle on Saturday, March 8. Brownfield will confront a Cranes team coming off a 15-0 league loss to Lamesa (Lamesa, TX). The Cranes record now stands at 0-7.

With the loss, Compass Academy moves to 0-2 on the season. The travel to Denver City (Denver City, TX) to confront the Mustangs in a 3A Region I District 3 battle on Saturday, March 8. The Mustangs come into the battle with a record of 11-2. Denver City won 18-5 in their recent non-league battle against Abernathy (Abernathy, TX)
