In Thursday's non-league match, the visiting South Stokes Sauras softball team scored a tight 9-8 victory over the North Surry Greyhounds.

The Sauras (2-0) will now prepare for their match against Mount Airy (Mount Airy, NC). The Granite Bears go into the Northwest 1A match with a 0-2 record. In their last match, Mount Airy was nipped by North Surry (Mount Airy, NC), 18-1, in a non-league match.

In their next game, the Greyhounds battle the Wilkes Central Eagles (Wilkesboro, NC) in a Foothills 2A match, on Tuesday, March 11. North Surry will attempt to better on its 1-2 season record. The Eagles go into the match with a 1-3 record after their 17-0 non-league loss to Hibriten (Lenoir, NC).
