Oak Grove Grizzlies (Winston-Salem, NC) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Rockingham County Cougars (Wentworth, NC), 7-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Grizzlies now own a 1-0 record. They take the field next when they host West Davidson for a non-league challenge on Wednesday, March 13.

With the loss, Rockingham County falls to 0-1 on the campaign. The Cougars travel to Southern Alamance (Graham, NC) to battle the Patriots in a non-league challenge on Friday, March 8. The Patriots enter the challenge with a record of 0-1. Southern Alamance lost 23-8 in their recent non-league challenge against Northwest Guilford (Greensboro, NC)
