The crowd at Thursday's league test between the Gainesville Red Elephants (Gainesville, GA) and the host Apalachee Wildcats (Winder, GA), saw Gainesville's soccer squad get by Apalachee by a count of 2-1.

The Red Elephants now hold a 4-6 record. They play next when they host Chestatee for a non-league test on Saturday, March 9. Gainesville will meet a War Eagles squad coming off a 1-0 non-league win over West Hall (Oakwood, GA). The War Eagles record now stands at 5-4.

With the loss, Apalachee drops to 3-8 on the season. The Wildcats host Habersham Central (Mt. Airy, GA) to meet the Raiders in a 6A Area 8 test on Tuesday, March 12. The Raiders come into the test with a record of 6-2. Habersham Central lost 1-0 in their recent league outing against North Forsyth (Cumming, GA)
