The Independence Wildcats softball team scored 9 runs and limited the visiting Center Hill Mustangs to 7 in the Wildcats non-league triumph on Thursday.

With the triumph, Independence moves its record to 3-6 on the year. The Wildcats host Water Valley (Water Valley, MS) to play the Blue Devils in a non-league game on Thursday, March 21. The Blue Devils come into the game with a record of 2-4.

In their next game, the Mustangs play the South Panola Tigers (Batesville, MS) in a 6A Region 1 game, on Tuesday, March 19. Center Hill will attempt to move on its 1-4 season record. The Tigers come into the game with a 8-2 record after their 12-0 league win over Olive Branch (Olive Branch, MS).
