Picayune Maroon Tide (Picayune, MS) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Pass Christian Pirates (Pass Christian, MS), 3-2 in a non-league challenge.

The Maroon Tide now own a 1-6 record. They take the field next when they host Purvis for a non-league challenge on Friday, March 15. Picayune will face a Tornadoes squad coming off a 15-3 non-league win over West Harrison (Gulfport, MS). The Tornadoes record now stands at 7-1.

With the loss, Pass Christian falls to 3-6 on the campaign. The Pirates travel to Oxford (Oxford, MS) to face the Chargers in a non-league challenge on Monday, March 11. The Chargers enter the challenge with a record of 5-4. Oxford won 16-0 in their recent league challenge against Horn Lake (Horn Lake, MS)
