Wetumpka Indians (Wetumpka, AL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad run past the host Smiths Station Panthers (Smiths, AL), 10-0 in a non-league challenge.

The Indians now own a 17-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Prattville for a non-league challenge on Monday, March 11. Wetumpka will battle a Lions squad coming off a 13-0 non-league loss to Central (Phenix City, AL). The Lions record now stands at 4-5.

With the loss, Smiths Station falls to 4-5 on the campaign. The Panthers host Opelika (Opelika, AL) to battle the Bulldogs in a 7A Area 4 challenge on Tuesday, March 12. The Bulldogs enter the challenge with a record of 5-8. Opelika won 7-3 in their recent non-league challenge against Randolph County (Wedowee, AL)
