Athens Hornets (Athens, TX) backers exited the stadium pleased Friday as they witnessed their soccer team triumph over the host Grand Saline Indians (Grand Saline, TX), 8-1 in a league test.

With the triumph, Athens advances its record to 11-5 on the campaign. The Hornets host Bullard (Bullard, TX) to clash with the Panthers in a 4A Region 2 District 14 test on Tuesday, March 11. The Panthers come into the test with a record of 15-1. Bullard won 8-0 in their recent league test against Brownsboro (Brownsboro, TX)

The Indians now have a 4-12 record. They take the field next when they travel to Cumberland Academy for a 4A Region 2 District 14 test on Tuesday, March 11.
