The crowd at Friday's league bout between the Columbia Roughnecks (West Columbia, TX) and the host Sweeny Bulldogs (Sweeny, TX), observed Columbia's softball team prevail over Sweeny by a tally of 11-1.

The Roughnecks (6-4) will now prepare for their bout against El Campo (El Campo, TX). The Ricebirds go into the 4A Region IV District 29 bout with a 13-3 record. In their last bout, El Campo was routed by Needville (Needville, TX), 11-3, in a league bout.

In their next game, the Bulldogs clash with the Brazosport Exporters (Freeport, TX) in a 4A Region IV District 29 bout, on Tuesday, March 11. Sweeny will attempt to advance on its 1-7 season record. The Exporters go into the bout with a 4-5 record after their 12-2 league loss to Columbia (West Columbia, TX).
