Abilene Eagles (Abilene, TX) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad run past the host Permian Panthers (Odessa, TX), 12-2 in a league challenge.

The Eagles now own a 10-6 record. They take the field next when they host Midland Legacy for a 6A Region I District 2 challenge on Friday, March 11. Abilene will battle a Rebels squad coming off a 5-0 non-league loss to Dripping Springs (Dripping Springs, TX). The Rebels record now stands at 2-6.

With the loss, Permian falls to 5-4 on the campaign. The Panthers host San Angelo Central (San Angelo, TX) to battle the Bobcats in a 6A Region I District 2 challenge on Tuesday, March 22. The Bobcats enter the challenge with a record of 8-5.
