Citrus Hurricanes (Inverness, FL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Crystal River Pirates (Crystal River, FL), 6-0 in a league challenge.

The Hurricanes now own a 5-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Tavares for a 4A District 6 challenge on Wednesday, March 9. Citrus will battle a Bulldogs squad coming off a 19-0 non-league win over Central Florida Christian Academy (Ocoee, FL). The Bulldogs record now stands at 3-3.

With the loss, Crystal River falls to 2-4 on the campaign. The Pirates host Nature Coast Tech (Brooksville, FL) to battle the Sharks in a non-league challenge on Thursday, March 10. The Sharks enter the challenge with a record of 4-1. Nature Coast Tech won 24-4 in their recent non-league challenge against Central (Brooksville, FL)
