Lake Region Thunder (Eagle Lake, FL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting McKeel Academy Wildcats (Lakeland, FL), 2-0 in a non-league challenge.

The Thunder now own a 4-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Sickles for a non-league challenge on Saturday, March 12. Lake Region will battle a Gryphons squad coming off a 6-3 non-league loss to Plant (Tampa, FL). The Gryphons record now stands at 1-4.

With the loss, McKeel Academy falls to 1-4 on the campaign. The Wildcats host Calvary Christian (Clearwater, FL) to battle the Warriors in a non-league challenge on Thursday, March 10. The Warriors enter the challenge with a record of 3-2. Calvary Christian lost 6-0 in their recent non-league challenge against Lakewood Ranch (Bradenton, FL)
