Spectators at Wednesday's non-league battle between the Hickory Red Tornadoes (Hickory, NC) and the visiting Newton-Conover Red Devils (Newton, NC), saw Hickory's baseball squad knock off Newton-Conover by a count of 7-3.

Coming up next, the Red Tornadoes play the Maiden Blue Devils (Maiden, NC) in a non-league battle, on Thursday, March 9. Hickory will attempt to move on its 2-2 season record. The Blue Devils enter the battle with a 1-1 record after their 11-3 non-league win over East Burke (Connelly Springs, NC).
