Steele Canyon Cougars (Spring Valley, CA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Holtville Vikings (Holtville, CA), 2-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Cougars now own a 4-1 record. They take the field next when they host Point Loma for a non-league challenge on Thursday, March 9. Steele Canyon will battle a Pointers squad coming off a 11-5 non-league win over Coronado (Coronado, CA). The Pointers record now stands at 3-1.

With the loss, Holtville falls to 3-1 on the campaign. The Vikings travel to Bonita Vista (Chula Vista, CA) to battle the Barons in a non-league challenge on Thursday, March 9. The Barons enter the challenge with a record of 2-2. Bonita Vista lost 5-2 in their recent non-league challenge against Granite Hills (El Cajon, CA)
