Metlakatla Chiefs (Metlakatla, AK) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the host Haines Glacier Bears (Haines, AK), 71-48 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Metlakatla upgrades its record to 18-2 on the season.

Next up, the Glacier Bears play the Craig Panthers (Craig, AK) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, March 9. Haines will attempt to upgrade on its 11-9 season record. The Panthers go into the bout with a 9-15 record after their 38-21 non-league win over Petersburg (Petersburg, AK).
