Bay City Blackcats (Bay City, TX) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad run past the host Stafford Spartans (Stafford, TX), 16-1 in a league challenge.

The Blackcats now own a 9-12 record. They take the field next when they host Iowa Colony for a 4A Region IV District 26 challenge on Monday, March 11. Bay City will battle a Pioneers squad coming off a 10-8 league loss to Sweeny (Sweeny, TX). The Pioneers record now stands at 4-14.

With the loss, Stafford falls to 2-5 on the campaign. The Spartans travel to La Marque (La Marque, TX) to meet the Cougars in a 4A Region IV District 26 match on Monday, March 11. The Cougars go into the match with a record of 0-6.
