Brenham Cubs (Brenham, TX) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Rudder Rangers (Bryan, TX), 9-5 in a league challenge.

The Cubs now own a 14-8 record. They take the field next when they host Lake Creek for a 5A Region III District 21 challenge on Tuesday, March 12. Brenham will battle a Lions squad coming off a 5-4 league win over Magnolia West (Magnolia, TX). The Lions record now stands at 18-5.

With the loss, Rudder falls to 5-8 on the campaign. The Rangers travel to Magnolia (Magnolia, TX) to battle the Bulldogs in a 5A Region III District 21 challenge on Tuesday, March 12. The Bulldogs enter the challenge with a record of 9-6. Magnolia lost 12-5 in their recent league challenge against A&M Consolidated (College Station, TX)
